The STG group is divided into three sub-groups:

Mandatory training for all groups:
  • PPT0 - Rules and Regulations of this group.
  • PPT1 - Intro to the Israeli Security/Protection Approach.
  • PPT2 - Intro to Behavioral Profiling and Intro to Security Questioning.
  • PPT3 - Suspicious Activity - How to recognize, report, etc.
  • Basic First Aid.
  • Emergency SOPs (including evacuation roles, etc.). 
  • Specific group on-the-job training (by Team Leaders).
  • General STG simulation - all groups together.

PPT0, PPT1, PPT2, PPT3: Confidential.

Hand to Hand / Defensive Tactics: (11 weeks / 1.5 hrs per week).
  • Interpretation of body language.
  • Psychology of engagement.
  • Exercises for physical fitness and mobiliy.
  • Relaxation and stress control.
  • Equilibrium, movement and coordination.
  • Effective skills for self defense.
  • Non-lethal control techniques.
  • Defense against multiple attackers.
  • Defense from evey type of position.
  • Knife defense and gun disarming.
  • Defense against common street tactics and weapons.
  • Use of improvised weapons. 
Basic Tactical Course:
  • 1 - Basic pistol course (special version - 3 hrs): Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. Topics include: gun and ammo selection, fundamentals of shooting and safety, basics of marksmanship, storage and maintenance of your firearm. 
  • 2 - Defensive Pistol Course (special version - 4 hrs): This course builds on the basics learned in the first course and applies them to protection inside a facility. We review various indoor protection strategies and learn tactics for surviving a violent encounter inside the facility. Topics include: gun and ammo selection, defensive shooting tactics, situational analysis of the various elements to consider including the legal aspects. 
  • 3 - Concealed Pistol Defense Course (special version - 4hrs): This course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense. From a review of safe firearms handling and proper mindset to selection of holsters and carrying positions, presentation from concealment and multiple shooting positions, this course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation.
  • Note: the above courses 2 and 3 were blended into one training session (3 hrs total). 
Advanced Tactical Course:
  • Tactical Pistol I Course (special version - 8hrs full day Sunday): This course, also known as "Tactical Mindset for Pistol Owners", is the first of three courses that focus on the tactical employment of the pistol. These three courses are advanced courses and are intended for students who have taken prior pistol shooting courses and are familiar with the functional aspects of the pistol, the basic fundamentals of shooting and practical applications for self defense. The courses have a strong influence from the Israeli approach to pistol work, but other schools of thought are also incorporated into the courses. In this first course, you will learn the basics of tactical movement with a pistol through a series of experimental and dynamic drills. Topics include: operational safety, target acquisition under stress, target discrimination, tactical movement, fundamentals of Israeli Instinctive Point Shooting, malfunctions, transition drills, warrior mindset. 
  • Tactical Pistol II Course (special version - 8hrs full day Sunday): In this second course, you will learn the basics of tactical movement with a pistol in confined spaces (home, office, car, etc.). You will use all the skills acquired in our Tactical Pistol I Course and now use them in confined spaces. We will explore different approaches to dealing with doors, corners, clearing a room, stairs, multiple entrances and more! Team work will be introduced in this course. 
  • Tactical Pistol III Course (special version - 3 hours - dry only): In this third course, you will learn the basics of tactical movement with a pistol in low-light conditions. You will use all the skills acquired in our previous two tactical pistol courses,  and now use them in a low-light environment. We will explore different methods to use a flashlight and will finish the day with realistic force-on-force scenarios. Team work and coordination drills will be done. 
  • Team Tac Simulation (special version - 3 hrs): In this high adrenaline course, you will learn to make critical decisions in highly stressful situations. Using simunition or airsoft guns, you will be run through realistic scenarios where the use of force and tactics will be present. You will learn your lessons in an empirical manner and will understand the term ‘no pain, no gain’. The local police department will be invited to participate in this event. This will enhance the communication and coordination with them, which will be critical in the event of an emergency. 

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • The tactical courses above have a specific sequence. If you miss one, you cannot proceed to the next one (look at the schedule of courses below - scroll down). If you miss a course, a remedial course may be scheduled per the instructors availability.
  • All sub-groups of the Security Trustees Group are welcome to participate in the courses. HOWEVER, finishing the courses does not guarrantee that you will be allowed to carry a firearm at our location. Likewise, it does not guarrantee that you will be selected to the R2G group.

​All of the training above is done by Technon Tactical LLC and signing the waiver of liability is a requirement.

Costs:
  • PPT0,1,2,3: free.
  • H2H: $20/class. 3 months.
  • Basic Pistol Course: $150 (done at indoor range).
  • Defensive Pistol Course + Concealed Pistol Defense Course: $150 (done at indoor range).
  • Tac Pistol I: $300 (special range rented full day / min. 8 participants).
  • Tac Pistol II: $300 (special range rented full day / min. 8 participants).
  • Tac Pistol III: $75. (done at our facility, special gear and tools needed. Tac flashlight needed).
  • Team Tac Simulations: $75 (done at our facility. Special gear and tools needed). 
  • Note: price includes range and location fees, materials and liability insurance. Ammunition, pistol rental, ear and eye protection not included. 
Committment and responsibility:

​Critical factors for the success of the Security Trustees Group are: quality training, committment and seriousness of the members.
Technon Tactical LLC will ensure the best instruction in the relevant fields and we will do this at a minimum cost basis. However, some of the courses will require renting external venues and gear and that cost will be reflected in the course fee.
 
It was decided that each member of the STG will finance his/her own education at this first stage. This, and your time and effort, will be your donation to the institution… and to your own training and development.  However, there will be partial grants for those serious and committed members who can’t afford the training cost. Please let us know if this is your case.

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE, starting Friday, Aug. 12, Team Leaders will work with their groups during regular Shabbat services and will perform on-the-job training (including communication, emergency and evacuation protocols).
