Course Description:
Despite the fact that many Florida residents have a concealed weapon permit, their level of training and defensive skill with a firearm is extremely poor. Most of the so called “CCW classes”, last no longer than 2-3 hours (of which most of the time is spent filling out the paper work).
The result is an ‘illusion of safety’, that is often brought to the sad reality when untrained gun owners try to use their firearms for self defense… and are not able to employ them effectively to defend themselves or their loved ones. Moreover, they often endanger the same people they seek to protect by storing or handling firearms in an unsafe manner.
Bottom line is this: if your concern is your personal protection and that of your family, a firearm by itself will not protect you. You must learn how to use it safely and effectively. Most importantly, you must learn how to avoid possible dangers and how to defuse them quickly if they do arise. Using a firearm is a last resort tool and if you ever do get into such a situation you must understand the implications of that highly stressful situation. Your levels of stress, adrenaline and other psychological and physiological factors will limit you in various ways … and it is ONLY THROUGH TRAINING that you will be able to overcome the heat and fear of the moment and actually take lifesaving ACTION.
This 7 hour course was designed to give you the basic tools and knowledge you need to prevail in a self defense situation.
The first part of the course will focus in increasing your situational awareness:
By the end of this course you will able to use your pistol in a safe and effective manner. You will also have a better understanding of how to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Finally, by the end of this course you will understand what your own ‘training roadmap’ looks like and what areas you will have to work more in. Training is a never ending process. The more you train, the better chances you will get if/when you will need to defend yourself or someone close.
Required Equipment
Pistol, Ammo (150rds), Long Pants with thick Belt, Eye and ear protection (available also at range for small fee), Hydration, Snack (Bring sandwich or snack, we will not stop to have lunch).
